Remove Broken Mirror | Tape off Edges, Lay out Tile | Mix, and apply grout | |
1. Remove all the broken glass from the mirror
2. Use a hammer to break up scrap or left over tile. Lay a towel on the floor, place tiles on one half of the towel and pull the other half of the towel over the tile. Hit the tile with the hammer until it is all broken into small pieces.
3. Use painters tape to cover the inside edges of the frame.
4. Lay the broken tile in a pattern in the middle of your frame. Once you have the look you like, use a hot glue gun to attach each piece of tile to the middle of the frame. You only need to use a dab of glue. After you have attached all the tile, allow the glue to dry.
5. Mix colored grout of your choice with water. Add small amounts of water until the grout is the consistency of paste. Pour the mixed grout onto the tile. Use a grout float to move the grout into all the cracks.
6. Use a damp sponge to remove the excess grout. Continue to wipe over the tiles until there is no grout haze left, and the tile is completely clean. Remove the painters tape, and allow to dry for 24 hours.
