1. Measure the height of your drum shade. Go to your local home improvement store and select 1 piece of furring strip that is 8 feet long. You can use any type of wood trim, but furring strips tend to be the least expensive. Have the home improvement store cut 4 pieces to the length of your drum shade. Be sure to take your measurements with you!
2. Use the Liquid Nails construction glue to glue the strips to the inside of the shade running vertically equal distance apart. These strips will act as supports for the glass top.
3. Paint the bottom of your glass top with white paint. Paint at least two coats so that no light shines through the paint. Allow to dry thoroughly.
4. Paint the drum shade with white paint. Paint at least two coats, again making sure no light is able to shine through.
5. Once the paint is dry place the glass top on the drum shade with supports, paint side down.
